Network project KMU4DEMENTIA creates practical technical solutions for the care of patients with dementia

The newly established network KMU4DEMENTIA plans to develop a complete modular system to improve the care of people with dementia in care facilities and hospitals. The public funded network project incorporates experts e.g. from the fields of medical technology applications, sensors and actuators, IT solutions, robotics and biotechnologies.

Smart Home, Smart Living, Intelligent Building and AAL: network meeting between Universal Home and IVAM highlights the potential for using high-tech components

As part of the “Microtechnology meets Universal Home” event on November 28, 2018, members of the IVAM Microtechnology Network and the Universal Home network met to discuss concepts for Smart Home, Smart Living, Intelligent Building and Ambient Assisted Living. The IVAM companies informed about micro- and nanotechnological processes and products which are available or in the development stage.

IVAM Product Market “High-tech for Medical Devices” at COMPAMED 2018

The product market "High-tech for Medical Devices", initiated by the IVAM Microtechnology Network, is COMPAMED's largest joint pavilion with 55 exhibitors. This year, the IVAM area in Hall 8a is characterized by its special internationality. The exhibitors come from Germany, Switzerland, France, the USA, the Netherlands, Austria, Great Britain, Greece, Belgium and Spain.

The 3D production of precision components was the focus of the LaserForum 2018, which took place in mid-October at the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany (RUB). In three consecutive sessions, experts from research and industry presented and discussed the latest developments and insights from additive, subtractive and hybrid manufacturing processes.

Companies discussed the concept and practical implementation of Predictive Maintenance

The conference IVAM HANDS ON – Predictive Maintenance brought together SMEs and startups who exchanged ideas about predictive maintenance strategies. In lectures and panel discussions, about 80 registered corporate representatives discussed concrete examples, solutions and joint project of how to implement concepts, improve work processes and generate new business models.

MSTextiles Forum 2018 introduced improvement of smart energy management in wearables

On June 21, 2018 the IVAM MSTextiles Forum took place at the Fraunhofer IZM in Berlin. The subject was "Energy for Wearables". In three sessions international speakers presented their work and ideas on energy generation, energy storage and energy management.

IVAM High-Tech Summit 2018 showed changing business models

The second IVAM High-Tech Summit on April 19, 2018 successfully took up the key topic of digitalization again. Around 60 international representatives of SME discussed new business models, Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT) under the influence of digitalization. In 2018, further events of IVAM will also deal with this essential topic.

The 12th COMPAMED Spring Convention on May 3 in Frankfurt focused on biocompatibility of implants and gave new perspectives in medical technology. 45 selected international participants used the conference not only as an opportunity to get an outlook on this year’s COMPAMED, but also to meet again and develop business contacts.
