COMPAMED 2024 presented technological innovations, boosted networking and highlighted industry trends

COMPAMED 2024, which took place in Düsseldorf from November 11 to 14, once again consolidated its position as the leading international trade fair for medical technology supplies. The IVAM joint booth in Hall 8a was once again a central point of contact for experts from all over the world who wanted to find out about the latest developments in micro- and nanotechnology, photonics and innovative materials

IVAM- Product Market showcased innovative components and systems for smart medical devices

On an exhibition area of over 600 m², 40 companies and research institutes from eleven countries presented their innovative components and systems for medical technology. The products on display ranged from high-precision micropumps and miniature valves to sensors, ultra-fine wires, microelectronic and microfluidic systems. These technologies are paving the way for a new generation of smart and reliable medical devices.

Particular attention was paid to digital diagnostic solutions that enable real-time diagnostics using BioMEMS technology, as well as optical and photonic systems that support tissue-sparing laser applications in minimally invasive medicine. Biocompatible coating technologies that offer protection against moisture, chemicals and electrical influences also met with great interest from international trade visitors. A survey of the exhibiting companies and institutes at the IVAM joint stand revealed a high level of satisfaction with the course of the trade fair. The quality of the discussions with the interested trade visitors was mentioned particularly positively.

Networking: making valuable contacts and encouraging cooperation

The IVAM joint stand and the associated forum were once again a hub for a wide range of networking opportunities. International experts from science, industry and business made intensive use of these to discuss innovative solutions for the future of medical technology. Targeted networking events such as “Europe meets USA”, the “IVAM Exhibitor Beer”, the exhibitor evening “Get-together”, the “Networking with Tokyo Pavilion” and spontaneous discussions, for example in the hands-on session on microfluidics, provided an ideal platform for making contacts, intensifying cooperation and promoting exchange. 

Expertise and innovation: High-tech forum showcased a wide range of technologies

The accompanying COMPAMED HIGH-TECH FORUM in Hall 8a offered in-depth insights into current trends and developments in the industry with 68 presentations in seven sessions. The sessions “Microfluidic Platforms - Shortcut to a Product”, “Medical Technology from Tokyo”, “Europe meets USA - High-Tech for Medical Devices” and “Laser and Photonics Applications - EPIC Tech Watch” were particularly well received. A total of 1,886 visitors took part in the presentations, which underlines the relevance of the topics covered.
