Smart sensor-based monitoring and diagnostic systems allow to quickly and reliably identify health-threatening risk factors as well as diseases and immediately initiate countermeasures. As a specialist for intelligent system solutions, Fraunhofer ENAS develops high-precision sensor solutions for “one health” applications and will be presenting these at this year´s COMPAMED in hall 8a at booth G19.5:
Chemical or microbiological pollutants in food can pose significant risks to human health. Rapid testing of food helps to minimize these risks and detect contaminants using highly sensitive microfluidic sensor systems, which Fraunhofer ENAS is developing together with international partners.
Carbon nanotubes are a promising class of materials for sensor applications due to their outstanding properties, such as their high sensitivity. Carbon nanotube-based sensors, which Fraunhofer ENAS is researching, are suitable for reliably identifying biological and chemical analytes, which makes them interesting for drug research, the detection of biomarkers or the identification of diseases.
Ultrasound techniques can be used to visualize structures inside the body and diagnose diseases in a patient-friendly manner. Fraunhofer ENAS is working on a new generation of micromechanical ultrasonic transducers that will allow detailed insights into the human body and thus support medical diagnostics.
