nano tech in Japan is the world's largest international nanotechnology exhibition and conference. In 2016 nano tech takes place from January 27 to 29 at the International Exhibition Center in Tokyo. About 45,000 visitors are expected. The exhibition presents the latest innovations in nanotechnology products and processes from all over the world and dedicates on topics like environmental protection/ development of new energy sources, life science solutions or medical devices. The IVAM Microtechnology Network presents the German joint pavilion at nano tech 2016. The following sub-exhibitors will present their product innovations on-site.

As a specialist for innovative coating solutions, the portfolio of GBneuhaus GmbH covers a wide range of functional and decorative coating systems for a variety of possible applications on different surfaces like glass, plastic, metal and ceramic. These coatings allow to finish products in various ways according to different needs.

HNP Mikrosysteme produces pumps which dose small amounts of liquids fast and accurately. They are characterized by low pulse delivery, minimal dead volume, small dimensions and powerful materials. Fields of application are analytical instrumentation, mechanical and plant engineering, chemical and pharmaceutical process engineering as well as organic electronics. Five series of mzr-pumps guarantee a flow rate from 1 µl/h to 1152 ml/min and enable high pressure up to 150 bar.

Multiphoton Optics GmbH sells 3D lithography equipment with major focus on manufacturing of optical packages and supplies a process that automates high-precision opto-electronics assembly and allows interconnecting optical components, silicon or III/V photonic chips. Multiphoton Optics' first stand-alone equipment platform LithoProf3D was launched in 2015. The equipment is available for standard 3D structuring jobs and sophisticated work flows with selectable exposure strategies with 3D printing from the sub-100 nanometer to the centimeter scale with highest precision for photonic and biomedical products.

temicon GmbH is the leading producer of high-quality micro- and nanostructured products serving as key components for applications like lighting, display, life science, solar technology and environmental engineering. The young and growing technology enterprise has established a unique technology platform for micro- and nanostructure technology aspects. The company uses lithographic processes, thin-film technologies, electroforming, injection molding, R2R- and R2P-technologies for the production of micro- and nanostructures – with special focus on large size patterning.

SENTECH develops, manufactures and globally sells innovative equipment focused on deposition, structuring and characterization of thin films in semiconductor technology, microsystems, photovoltaics, nanotechnology and materials research. SENTECH provides innovative solutions for non-contact, non-invasive optical characterization using ellipsometry and reflectometry. SENTECH is expert in etching and deposition of thin films by plasma process technology and offers ALD systems. A new metrology application lab at SENTECH’s Japanese distributor “Hakuto” will be opened in January.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Silicate Research ISC presents applications based on nano materials like dielectrics and passivation for electrical interconnection technology, printable metal-oxides for transparent electronics, diffractive optical matrices for integrated optics and photonics, piezo materials for sensing and actuating devices as well as ultra-barrier materials for packaging, photovoltaics and displays. Functional coatings, two-photon absorption technology (TPA) and electrolytes and nano-electrodes for batteries and super-capacitors will also be showcased at nano tech.

The Ministry for Economics, Labour and Transport of Niedersachsen supports international cooperation with companies as well as research institutes and assists in all steps of settlement. In Niedersachsen nanotechnology is applied in many fields, e.g. lightweight construction, surfaces and new materials.

The Cluster Nanotechnology is funded within the Bavarian cluster initiative by the Bavarian government and managed by the Nanoinitiative Bayern. Major objective is the continuous development of a nanotechnology competence network for an efficient transfer of latest R&D-results into marketable products as well as the promotion of cooperation aiming at concrete projects.

The European Centre for Dispersion Technologies (EZD), an organization of the SKZ – German Plastics Centre, actively participates in the European project CO-PILOT (Flexible Pilot Scale Manufacturing of Cost-Effective Nanocomposites through Tailored Precision). In the CO-PILOT project an open access infrastructure for companies, interested in the production of high quality nanocomposites on a pilot scale including online-monitoring (20-100 kg), is being established. The EZD focuses on the production and characterization of polymer nanocomposites with high dispersion quality.

The Network NanoCarbon is an open network for the development of marketable nano carbon products. Small and medium-sized enterprises are in the network's focus, aiming to accelerate the technology transfer. The members of the network are experts in the field of production, processing, application and disposal, i.e. the entire life cycle, of these materials.

nanoInk is an open network for special inks for industrial inkjet printing systems. The focus is on formulating inks and on process technologies. nanoInk implements innovative products and applications and hereby exploits the technical benefits of the nano components in high-performance inks.
A diverse conference program complements the nano tech exhibition. At the experts’ forum (East Hall 5, booth 5M-13) which is taking place parallel to the fair from January 27 - January 29, 2016 on the German Pavilion, IVAM organizes a session on the subject of “Nanotechnology – Innovations Made in Germany”.
