As in previous years, the IVAM Microtechnology Network is organizing the Japanese-German Micro / Nano Business Forum within the former “Micromachine/MEMS Exhibition”, which will take place for the first time under the new name “Nano Micro Biz” this summer. The Nano Micro Biz in Tokyo is the world’s largest trade fair in Micro/MEMS and Nanotechnology and co-located with the exhibition “ROBOTECH – the Exhibition on Next-Generation Service Robot Manufacturing Technology“.

The business forum takes place on the second day of the trade show, Thursday July 4, 2013. Renowned speakers like Professor Kentaro Totsu of Tohoku University and Prof. Gessner of the Fraunhofer Research Institution for Electronic Nano Systems ENAS will start with an extensive overview of the current research activities in micro and nano technology. Afterwards German and Japanese company representatives, e.g. from Panasonic Corporation, Coherent Kaiserslautern, Taisei Kogyo or Polytec Japan will present marketable innovations. In the past years, more than 300 Japanese business representatives attended the Micro/Nano Business Forum each time.

The forum is organized by IVAM, with support of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Energy and Industry of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia as well as the Micromachine Center (MMC) in Tokyo. The MMC is a Japanese non-profit organization who supports micro- and nano-related industry development.
