IVAM Product Market “High-tech for Medical Devices” at COMPAMED 2014

Nov 7, 2014
COMPAMED has become an established international marketplace for suppliers of medical manufacturing. The trade fair, which takes place every November and is co-located to MEDICA in Dusseldorf, has been steadily growing over the past years and shows that medical technology remains a rapidly growing market.

Record exhibitor turnout at the IVAM Product Market
The joint pavilion organized by IVAM Microtechnology Network, the Product Market “High-tech for Medical Devices”, is located in Hall 8a and will focus on the innovations from key technologies like microtechnology, nanotechnology, photonics or advanced materials. 45 international companies and research institutes have decided on participating in the 680 m² joint pavilion.

Medical technology of the future
The joint pavilion will exhibit miniaturized components, functional materials and high-precision processes that will improve cost-effectiveness, safety and reliability of medical technology products in the future, e.g. in the manufacture of mobile analysis, therapy and monitoring devices. Adding to this, it will feature processes and products that were originally developed for other industries, such as automotive, but possess great application potential in medical technology.

HIGH-TECH Forum – a gathering place for experts
The COMPAMED HIGH-TECH Forum in Hall 8a offers a scientific look at research and development of the featured products and processes, illustrates the sector’s trends and provides information on the relevant foreign markets for medical technology. This year, for example, the forum will feature a session on the U.S. market. Further key topics are laser and photonics applications, printed electronics and innovative high precision manufacturing methods.

Extended duration for COMPAMED starting 2015
Messe Düsseldorf has announced that COMPAMED 2015 will be extended by one additional day, making it a four-day-fair. IVAM CEO Dr. Thomas R. Dietrich welcomes this decision: “Extending COMPAMED is a logical consequence of its success over the past years. Especially the rise in international attention brings more and more visitors. In the future, exhibitors will see their time for extensive talks with their customers increased by a third. The additional day will strengthen the synergy effect with MEDICA and encourages contact between end users and manufacturers of medical technology.”
