Directives and regulations of the European Union are designed to facilitate the free movement of goods and services within the European single market. In the perception of European microtechnology organizations, the impeding effects of EU regulations clearly outweigh the facilitating effects. Particularly SMEs feel overburdened with the documentation and reporting obligations.

Target-group-tailored marketing: FRT wins 10th IVAM Marketing Prize/ SmartMembranes is honored as a "starter"

FRT GmbH from Bergisch Gladbach, Germany and SmartMembranes GmbH from Halle/Saale, Germany are winner of the IVAM Marketing Prize 2018. FRT GmbH was awarded the 10th IVAM Marketing Prize on April 19 in Dortmund, SmartMembranes GmbH received a special award within the newly created category „starter“.

Microtechnology industry is hiring – positive developments of past years continue

Positive developments in the European microtechnology industry that have become apparent in previous years continue this year, in some cases intensified. This has been confirmed by this year's economic data survey by the IVAM Microtechnology Network. These developments include a continued upswing in staff numbers and turnover and very good forecasts in both areas for the next three years.

The jury nominated four finalists for the 10th IVAM-Marketing Prize: eagleyard Photonics GmbH in Berlin, FRT GmbH in Bergisch Gladbach, Turck duotec GmbH in Halver and SmartMembranes GmbH in Halle (Saale).

Europe's microtechnology industry watches government formation in Germany with mixed feelings

Representatives of the microtechnology industry in Europe are partly concerned and partly relaxed about the impact the long government formation process in Germany might have on the European Union. As part of its annual economic data survey, the IVAM Microtechnology Network has asked industry representatives whether they believe that the delay in forming a government in Germany harms the EU and 45 percent responded with "yes", 44 percent with "no", and 11 percent are undecided.
