The Berliner Glas Group is getting support: Early September 17 apprentices started their careers at Berliner Glas in Berlin, three apprentices started their careers at SwissOptic AG in Heerbrugg, Switzerland already in August.
The Berliner Glas Group is again offering a wide range of training opportunities this year. Twelve career starters are being trained as precision opticians, three young talents are starting their training in the field of industrial sales and business administration, two apprentices have signed up for training as cutting machine operators and three young talents decided to get trained as mechatronics technician, warehouse logistics specialist and IT specialist for system integration.
In total, the Berliner Glas Group is currently enabling 72 apprentices and dual students to lay the first important foundation stone for a successful career in the fields of photonics and technical glass at ist locations in Berlin, Schwäbisch Hall and Heerbrugg. Young professionals have a high priority in the Berliner Glas Group. In order to proactively counteract the shortage of skilled workers, Berliner Glas and SwissOptic have been trained their junior staff for many years – with great success. The majority of the apprentices are given permanent positions after their training.
Canceled fairs and events as well as closed schools as a consequence of the corona pandemic have made contact with potential trainees more difficult this year. In the future the Berliner Glas Group will also use new digital methods to search for and select new trainees. Preparations are in full swing. The training opportunities for 2021 at Berliner Glas and SwissOptic are already announced on the website.
