LightPulse Laser Precision

LightPulse LASER PRECISION is a start-up company from Stuttgart that is spezialized in material processing with ultra-short pulse lasers. LightPulse offers technology consulting, the development of machining processes adapted to customer requirements and the contract manufacturing of single pieces and series.

With ultra-short pulsed laser radiation, the energy of the laser is concentrated in pulses with a duration of approx. one trillionth of a second. The extremely short and spatially very precise energy input that is thus possible allows to structure, drill, cut or modify workpieces with micrometer precision and practically without undesired damage. LightPulse has set itself the aim to opening up the full innovation potential of this technology to its customers.
LightPulse offers expertise and manufacturing capacity in the following processes:

• Micro-drilling of holes with minimum diameters of 15 µm and freely adjustable hole geometry.
• Functionalization of surfaces to obtain water-repellent properties. For example, the icing of surfaces can be reduced.
• Fine cutting of thin materials such as metal foils.
• 2.5 D laser structuring, for example of injection molding tools for microfluidics.
• Processing of difficult-to-machine materials such as carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) or ceramics.
• Black marking of surfaces. This process can be used for corrosion resistant marking.
