5th NRW Nano Conference

with co-located exhibition organized by IVAM Mircotechnology Network
Sep 18 - 19, 2012
Kongresszentrum Westfalenhallen, Dortmund

North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) is one of the leading locations for nanotechnology in Germany and in the world. One significant factor is the strong scientific base to be found in this state. In order to consistently make the most of the chances this location offers to this future-oriented sector, the NRW State Government will be proactively supporting the worlds of science and business in extending their lead in nanotechnologies for the future.

The 5th NRW Nano Conference focuses on four topics: "graphene", "nanotechnology for the environment", "nanophotonics," and "safety".

The plenary lectures on the first day give an insight into the versatility of the material graphene and its production and show how nanotechnology can be applied to protect water and air. They also introduce the future technologies that may result from the manipulation of light with and in nanoscale materials and analyze the safety issues that need to be clarified in the context of a sustainable use of nanotechnology.

On the second day, four workshop sessions will deal with all four subjects in detail.

This year’s conference will again be accompanied by an exhibition. 60 nanotechnology companies and institutes will present themselves in this surrounding. The exhibition is fully booked.

Hosts of the 5th NRW Nano Conference are the Ministry of Innovation of North Rhine-Westphalia, the City of Dortmund Economic Development Agency, the NanoMicro+Materials.NRW state cluster and the two conference partners MST.factory dortmund and IVAM Microtechnology Network.
