Berliner Glas has almost 60 years of experience in processing glass and glass surfaces. Berliner Glas structures the surface of the glass via etching to create defined surface textures, roughness, or gloss values for different markets and areas of application.

Today, high-quality control elements with touch function are increasingly being required to be anti-reflective, react well to touch, offer a comfortable feel, and be easy to clean after prolonged use. The etched glass produced by Berliner Glas Technical Glass are haptically optimized, resistant to fingerprints (anti-fingerprint) and similar contamination, and thus comply with the high requirements of touch applications.

The scattering and associated reduction of reflection is equally important in many medical applications. With blank glass, a clear reflection of the background is visible, which is often distracting. Etched glass can be used as a remedy for this, as it reduces reflection because its structure scatters the light at various angles. The haptics of a structured surface are also a positive feature: when sliding your finger over etched glass surfaces, you will feel less resistance than with standard float glass. In addition, Berliner Glas offers various customer-specific gloss values. The subtractive etching process makes the glass ideal for high-resolution applications under adverse conditions that require the best anti-glare properties: low sparkling, low haze, and ultra-high resolution.
